Washington Free Clinic Hires Full-Time Medical Director

Clinic averts crisis

The Washington Free Clinic is featured in the Catalog for Philanthropy, a publication designed to raise public awareness of, and respect for, philanthropy; increase and improve charitable giving; and facilitate satisfying relationships between donors and recipients. This year's Catalog focus is on Washington, D.C.-based charities. The Washington Free Clinic was one of 70 charities, described by the Catalog as "among the best" charities in Washington, chosen by a team of professional grantmakers based on the organization's distinction, merit, cost-effectiveness, and accomplishment. The Affairs of the Heart Gala 2003 was a special commemoratory event in honor of the Washington Free Clinic's 35th anniversary. Providing free health care to those in greatest need has always been at the core of The Washington Free Clinic's mission. Hosted by Ambassador Margarita Escobar and held in the stunningly beautiful Organization of American States on October 31st, 2003, the Gala was attended by over 200 guests.
